Comparison between the Xiaomi M1 and HTC HD2

Just a quick heads up before I get round to posting the detailed review of the Xiaomi M1 Phone. By way of some background I’ve done a quick specification comparison table between to the two devices. Consider it your homework. I might test you later. You can find it here. Obviously if you find any errors or omissions feel free to let me know.

nice to see the phone finally arrived in one piece. patiently waiting for the review. but seriously. will people outside china be able to own this gadget? atleast you understand chinese and have contacts there. for the rest of us it does look like a pipe dream. but lucky huawei might have come to our rescue at ces with the ascend p1 which will be available worldwide from the end of march for around 400 dollars. love your blog by the way and the post about your patners laptop was funnnyy. kept writing!

Thanks for the nice comments. I am working on the review now but life gets in the way. I don’t actually understand Chinese that well but I do know China which helps of course. Its’s a fair point and I’m not sure when or if the Xiaomi will be available more widely. What Lei Jun has said is that they will extend to Taiwan early this year and the move to using both Foxconn and adding Toshiba in addition to Sharpe for screen manufacture (you heard it here first!) means they are serious about ramping up production. You can add Qualcomm’s investment into the mix as well. But then you have got the huge domestic demand from China. So it may be a pipe dream. But what Xiaomi have done is set the standard that Huawei and their ilk have to beat. A huge spec smartphone for approx 300 dollars give or take a credit crunch. That isn’t a pipe dream, that’s just really exciting. And then there is the rumoured quad core M2….
